    DEPV Talisman

Talisman at Kilcreggan, she appears to be backing down on a spring to bring the bow out; I think those are NB funnel colours so probably pre-1948. FB pic.

There's also this grounding at Arrochar in the early 1950s.

According to Alan Brown`s book the stranding at Kilcreggan was 3 Janudary 1948

The picture at Kilcreggan is interesting as probably one of the few taken of the extremely sparse LNER

winter service ----two trips to Gourock and one to Rothesay (extra on Saturdays )

On the day of the grounding at Arrochar I had elected to go by train to to Tarbet We spent a long time on

Prince Edward waiting for news !

Diesel electric paddler Vevey has returned to service on Lake Geneva

where there have been no motor paddlers for some years Having recently

watched her leaving Montreux it struck me that the drone from her machinery

was almost the same as that from Talisman so if you go to Switzerland and close your eyes ----------

That's a brand new engine, too, Gillon !

Surely it should be quiet and insulated ???
