    scot II

This ship was built as a tug/ icebreaker on the Caledonian Canal in 1931

Initially steam converted to diesel I sailed on her in 1963 when she ran

excursions from Inverness to Loch Ness turning at Urquhart Castle - quite

a pleasant trip and at the time the only regular sailing on the canal

I had thought that she must have disappeared years ago but now have learnt

that she still exists as a hulk at Fort Augustus and there are quite ambitious

    plans for her restoration

Scot II was brought down to the Ardmaleish Boat Yard on Bute a good number of years ago for restoration work for a new owner. She was then abandoned and left to rot.
It is good to hear that she is back on the Caledonian Canal where she belongs. I hope she can be sympathetically restored to her original condition.
