    Freshspring on the move

Yesterday Freshspring took it's first steps to a new life in Bideford after laying at Newnham-on-Severn for over twenty years, with a tow by New Ross One to Sharpness. Here Freshspring will go into the drydock to have works undertaken to enable her to gain a load line exemption and be towed to Bideford.

This is good - and the tow price to Bideford ...... well that IS good !

This project has made remarkable progress. Congratulations
WSN/WEL automatically class the £17.50 admittance element of your fare as a donation even though they do not fulfill the generally-applicable rules which define what a donation must be in order for charities to do so. This means that any Gift Aid form you sign and any claim they make on HMRC would appear to be invalid. WSN refuse to explain why they believe their approach is in compliance with the law

Fantastic news! Freshspring is a beautiful little ship with lots of history and deserves to be preserved in a good home.
Well done to all those involved in the efforts to save this ship.

    Re: Freshspring on the move

On Sunday Freshspring was moved into the drydock and today with great care and precision by Sharpness drydock, she was gently lowered onto the blocks, the first time in around 40 years. First impression is that she's looking pretty good, but only after the blasting and surveying will we know for sure. Blasting is due to start tomorrow and take about 8 days to complete.
