Surely you mean SS Oriana possibly the fastest non- Atlantic liner
A Magniicent picture Mine is not so good but of some interest as taken from the 1956 Carinthia We were cruising quite slowly
but I can always remember the speed at which she shot past

Yes of course you are quite correct, just blame it on senility.

Never sure why but when both were in service she seemed to be a far more popular ship than Canberra. Now she seems forgotten but Canberra, probably thanks to her life as the Great White Whale in the Falklands, seems well remembered.

funnily enough I thought canberra got more attention than oriana because canberra had her engines aft and striking superstructure
while the innovations of oriana were less in the public eye It would have been great to travel on either to Australia in 3 weeks

I had never really seen any liners, but i am sure i saw Oriana at Hong Kong in 1982 - and i was mightily impressed by her. Didn't take any photos unfortunately - but I did take tram / metro ones of course - and some of the Star Ferries I think
