The Danny is currently "trapped" on the River Weaver and is operating between Sutton Weaver and Acton Bridge.
These photos were taken near/at Acton Bridge on July 1st as she arrived, turned and headed back whilst operating a SHANTIES ON THE STEAMER (non-landing) cruise.

'Trapped'? Is there a problem with the bridge mechanism?

'Trapped'? Is there a problem with the bridge mechanism?

Marsh Lock is out of action after a ship hit the gates, so no vessels can move between the Ship Canal and the Weaver until the gates are repaired. A revised sailing programme is now in operation.

Today is the Danny’s 115th Birthday! The SS Daniel Adamson was launched this day in 1903 from the slipway of the Tranmere Bay Development Co on the site of what is now Cammell Lairds wet basin. Launched as “Ralph Brocklebank” for the Shropshire Union Railway & Canal Co, part of LNWR.
